01 / The problem

A load’s rate is only part of the picture.

A load’s quoted rate is only part of the picture. Dispatchers also need to account for fuel, fixed costs, and deadhead miles, often while talking to a broker.

02 / What I built

I built LoadMerit to show the estimated revenue, costs, and margin for a load in one place. Operators enter the offered rate, loaded and deadhead miles, and their costs.

The result includes a Book, Negotiate, or Pass recommendation and a suggested counteroffer. The workflow is designed for checking an offer during a call with a broker.

Operators can set their own fuel, fixed, and per-mile costs, so the estimates reflect their business.

03 / Features

  • Load profitability scoring

Rate, miles, deadhead, and cost inputs are combined into a clear per-load margin.

  • Quick load checks

Check an offer while talking to a broker.

  • Your own cost model

Fuel, fixed, and per-mile costs are configurable, so margin reflects your operation instead of an average.

04 / How it’s built

I built LoadMerit with Next.js and TypeScript, using Supabase for data and user accounts. It’s one of my own products, which I continue to operate and maintain.
